Hello faithful blog readers. The last update was... about three weeks ago. Ah.
Well, in my defence I've been pretty busy, exams and all (much of the all). So apologies if you've been patiently waiting for the weekly recordings, and apologies to anyone who tunes in tomorrow: I'll be in the middle of an exam at the time! The show will be back (potentially as a "special" edition of the show due to the Cambridge happiness that is known as Bumps) as usual next Wednesday, that's 11th June at the usual time which is 14:00 BST (15:00 GMT).
In the mean time to keep all music addicts satisfied, here are three show recordings.. none like any other!
There's More To Music 28/05/2008 show recording
This was a fairly standard show. I'll definitely post the track list at some point, but the basic theme was "relaxation" so there's lots of smooth music (as opposed to jarring) and a couple ambient tracks which you will hopefully enjoy if it's not usually your thing; if you don't like them keep the faith, ambient is pretty broad.
There's More To Music 21/05/2008 show recording
Ah yes.. this recording has been edited down to about half an hour. You see what happened is that the lock on the door to the studio broke (just my luck) and so I had to wait for maintenance to basically jam it open. Despite that though, let me underline what a fun it ended up being; I played random tracks from the CUR1350 CD library, and got a ton of emails, most of them concerning a certain band... Ironically one of the funnest half hours in a long time! (Don't worry though, in the show #16 I go back to trying too hard.)
Also note that the "film soundtracks" themed show has been pushed back to next term (with a different track list by then anyway).
There's More To Music 29/11/2008 show recording
A very old show here folks, second of two from back in November when I was just getting to grips with all those buttons on the big desk in front of me. I haven't listened to this recently... But as usual it's completely unedited, and I can assure there will be several mistakes in it, I just can't remember what the worst one is off the top of my head (but there's one before the first track starts, and one right after it!) The best stuff in this show is clearly the japanese track at the end (not what you might expect) and the "Scandinavian blackened death metal" requested the week before.
OK, well remember to tune in next week, there will be a guest, and I can promise you it will be a fun show, not so much seriousness.. In the mean time enjoy what little I have posted here.
Thankyou to all my readers and listeners, it's a pleasure doing the show. Enjoy!
